Each month we'll pay a visit to one of Croydon's many restaurants for Croydon Dinner Club. Whether this is a trip to a new and exotic venue or a return visit to one of our favourites in South End's restaurant quarter we try to keep this interesting and varied, and Croydon certainly has no shortage of great places to eat out!

This is a somewhat more formal event in that we will have a table booked for a certain number of people at a certain time and expect everyone to arrive and eat together (so do please let us know if you're going to be late), however it still gives people a chance to meet and chat with the people sitting around them. If the meal isn't over too late in the evening it sometimes gives us a chance to mingle at the bar or a nearby pub afterwards before heading home!

Drink, Nibble, Chat is a relaxed and informal monthly event where we meet up in one of Croydon's pubs or bars to enjoy a drink, have a nibble and make some conversation - all as the name implies!

There is a good opportunity to mingle and to get to know people here and as food and drink is ordered individually it's not necessary to turn up for the 7pm start if you can't make it until a bit later.

We kick off one of our weekends each month with Brunch Club, usually held in one of Croydon's cafés. There will nearly always be the option for a full English breakfast wherever we end up but we try to ensure there are some interesting alternatives such as the Turkish breakfast at Crystal Rocks, one of the Moroccan dishes at Le Bon Café or the Crab Benedict at The Store.

During the summer months we often head a little further out from the centre of Croydon to the Coach House Café to dine outdoors in the beautiful surroundings of Coombe Wood. This also gives us a chance to go for a pleasant walk afterwards, though when the weather's bit cooler we're more likely to congregate in a pub afterwards, depending on how the mood takes us!

The event formally runs from 11am to 1pm and most people will arrive at around 11am however as most venues cater to ordering indivdually it's not usually too important to arrive bang on time, though if you plan to join us to eat we do ask that you'd try to get there before 12pm. Some venues do prefer us to order together or even pre-order so please do check the description of any events you sign up to.

Croydon has an abundance of great curry houses and so we started the monthly Curry Club to complement the monthly Dinner Club to try as many of them as we could!

As the event happens on a Monday it also gives us a chance to align the event with bank holiday weekends where possible and to travel a little further from the centre of Croydon than we might otherwise be able to do.

The Green Dragon is one of our favourite venues in Croydon and we meet there on the second Tuesday of each month. It's an award-winning pub in the centre of Croydon and has a wide selection of ales and craft beers on offer, securing it a position in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide every year. It also offers the largest variety of ciders in Croydon, and with a frequently updated selection behind the bar there's always something new to try! The food menu provides a good mix of traditional British food and modern dishes, and this changes a few times throughout the year with seasonal specials.

This is a somewhat informal gathering where members can mingle and chat in the pub's cosy atmosphere. Food and drink is ordered individually at the bar, so although the event formally starts at 7pm it's not necessary to turn up bang on time - some people will turn up early and stay until pub closing time, others will only pop in for an hour or so, but as it's a popular event there's always a good number of people there throughout the evening.

There are many pubs and bars in and around Croydon that we enjoy visiting which might not be suitable for people aiming to get something to eat and so not fall under the umbrella of our Drinks & Nibbles events. However, they can be ideal meeting points for a Saturday afternoon pint or two (or non-alcoholic beverage of your choice) and so once a month we'll pay a visit to one of these venues.

Tokia Square is a food hall on the first floor of the Grants entertainment complex with several different brands supplying food from all across Asia - China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, India and more are represented with a wide variety of dishes.
